Change happens when conversations move beyond awareness and into our communities.
I collaborate with organizations, advocates, educators, media, podcasts, community leaders, and other professionals who are working to create greater understanding around domestic violence, coercive control, relational trauma, nervous system health, survivor empowerment, and healing.
Opportunities for collaboration may include speaking engagements, podcasts and media appearances, panels, educational events, workshops, community conversations, advocacy initiatives, and aligned partnerships.
If your work intersects with these conversations and you believe our voices could create something meaningful together, I'd love to hear from you.
Areas of expertise

Unbroken brings together two distinct perspectives — healing and embodiment alongside law, human rights, advocacy, and systemic change.
Rev. Julie Haas is an ordained Interfaith Minister, somatic practitioner, Usui Reiki Master, survivor advocate, and founder of Faithfully Driven.
Drawing from both professional training and lived experience, Julie explores what happens beneath the surface of trauma — particularly the ways coercive control, betrayal, psychological abuse, and chronic relational stress can impact the nervous system, self-trust, identity, spirituality, and our ability to feel safe in relationship.
Her work brings the conversation back to the whole person: mind, body, spirit, relationships, and the possibility of rebuilding a life rooted in sovereignty and self-trust.
Laura Laffitte Salis-Gabbiani is a Human Rights Legal Expert, coercive control expert, advocate, and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime delegate with more than 25 years of experience across law, policy, and human rights advocacy.
Her work focuses particularly on coercive control, domestic and family violence, human trafficking, trauma-informed policy, the protection of women and children, and the systemic structures that impact vulnerable populations.
Laura's work extends beyond awareness into policy and systemic reform. Her international advocacy includes collaboration with the United Nations and UNODC, contributing her expertise and lived experience to conversations surrounding coercive control, justice systems, human rights, and stronger protections for vulnerable populations.
She also brings something that cannot be learned solely through professional training: lived experience.
As a survivor of domestic violence herself, Laura understands the profound gap that can exist between what systems are designed to do and what survivors actually experience while trying to navigate them.
That intersection of professional expertise and lived experience is at the heart of her advocacy.
Together, Julie and Laura examine trauma from both the inside and the outside.
Julie brings the lens of the nervous system, somatics, spirituality, relationships, healing, and survivor experience.
Laura brings the lens of law, human rights, coercive control, policy, advocacy, and systemic reform.
Together, they ask bigger questions:
What happens to a person living inside coercive control?
What happens inside the body after prolonged betrayal, fear, and psychological manipulation?
Why are non-physical forms of abuse still so difficult for society — and sometimes our institutions — to recognize?
Where are systems failing survivors?
And most importantly:
What needs to change?
Unbroken exists at the intersection of lived experience, healing, human rights, and advocacy — bringing conversations that have too often happened behind closed doors into the light.
